The theme of the 2014 HATalk Hat Making Competition was Remembrance.

2014 marked the centenary of World War I and we joined the world in remembering those, throughout history, who sacrificed their lives during times of conflict in order to protect others. We encouraged milliners and hat makers around the world to make hats and headpieces to interpret this theme for our hat making competition.

The competition judges – Georgina Abbott of Atelier Millinery, Denise Innes-Spencer of The British School of Millinery and myself, HATalk Editor Becky Weaver – spent a lot of time looking at all of the amazing entries.
