Description

“Violette” quite literally represents ‘fusion’ with the hand-made flowers being made from layers or cling wrap fused together to create a new semi-translucent textile that has been cut and shaped into beautiful flowers. The piece also represents the fusion of modern contemporary design with traditional millinery techniques suited for todays modern wearer.

Materials

• Cling wrap (AKS saran wrap, plastic wrap)
• Stamens
• Millinery wire
• 20/20 base material and Dacron wadding
• Gold lame fabric
• Fine gold net fabric

Techniques

• Hot iron.
• Flower making techniques.
• Alice band made from pattern making techniques, covered with fabric (hand sewn).
• Hand painting (flowers)
