Description

Fusion in my hat is found in the combination and mixing of all the dust colors I used on a white fabric. The new fabric which I create is colorful and unique.

Materials

• sinamay as a base
• wire
• lining
• glass wool
• feather
• braid embroidery
• dust paints yellow, blue, red, etc
• alcohol
• elastic

Techniques

• Sinamay was blocked and covered with lining.
• Lining was placed on a tenter with pins and then dust paints were spreaded gently on it. Many colours were used because I needed a good color mixure.
• when I finished the spreading procedure I took a bottle with alcohol and started to drop it on the fabric. At first I squeezed the bottle to have a big amount of alcohol on the fabric. I tryed not to mix the colors completelly because I wanted to have base colors as well as supplementary colors. Immidiately all colors apeared.
• After that I used alcohol again but this time I started to drop small drops of it on the lining to make small clouds.
• When it was dry I cut it and place it over the glass wool which was placed over the sinamay.
• Braid embroidery was placed around the hat for a better finish as well as the arrow feather for a fierce result.
