Metal colla
Category: Modern
Description
I wanted to unite the classing use of block with the metal of the coca cola cans as a contemporary element, thus making a playful reference to the artistic movements of the begining of the 20th century in Paris, when Marcel Duchan created the famous “objet trouvé”.
Materials
- Base of sisal
- coca-cola cans
- pheasant feathers
- bias
- lining fabric
- metallic thread
- silk thread
Techniques
- I’ve shaped the sisal in a block, then adding an outside lining made of coca-cola cans, which I first cut up and filed. I then added a finishing touch with fire and a hammer.
- Once glued, I varnished them to protect them and decorated the whole with three pheasant feathers, and covering the head part with silk.
- The inside is lined with fabric.
