Description

‘Fusion’ is for me the merge of a simple basic pattern of a beret and the manifacture from the fabric by bobbin lace. By using the technique of bobbin lace I can make nice patterns and structure in the fabric. Also the opening in the top has a nice finish.

Materials

  • bobbins
  • lace pillow
  • scissors
  • needle
  • pins
  • threads: (thick woolen thread in blue, thin linen thread in light blue, thin linen thread in dark blue, thin linen thread in dark green)
  • felt stiffener

Techniques

  • Contemporary bobbin lace.
  • Bobbin lace is a lace textile made by braiding and twisting lengths of thread, which are wound on bobbins to manage them. As the work progresses, the weaving is held in a place with pins set in a lace pillow. (Source explanation Bobbin lace – Wikipedia)
  • Two part of bobbin lace : top pattern + under pattern => to merge by handsewing.
