Description

I believe “Ms. Kitty” is a perfect example of old meets New fusion. Old world techniques in blocking a modernized take on a vintage style. Utilizing the use of parts of vintage hats worn by the greatest generation in a 2018 look creates a fabulous look.

Materials

• White buntal mat with vintage navy straw crown repurposed from a vintage hat.
• Navy and white striped band and bow with sash that ties behind the ear.
• Navy and white dotted veiling

Techniques

• Blocked buntal mat on wood boater fascinator block.
• Reblocked vintage crown over the buntal mat.
• Sewed hat band and created bow with fabric.
• Sewed in Millinery wire at base of the crown.
• Sewed the sash on the left and right side under the crown.
