Description

My hat “THANKS TO ELTON JOHN FOR TINY DANCER” brings together the two things I love the most: hats and music.

All the materials involved have been filled with memories from people who enjoyed their lives. The surfaces may have looked worn out but they are still occupied energy. This motivated me to fuse these pieces into something different so that they could glow again. The outcome is a classic shaped hat which enclosed a powerful spirit and some extraordinary materials. I dedicated this hat to Elton John because I always have such a good time when his music is playing. To me he is the embodiment of glittering glow combined with a classic chic and one of my favorites anyway.

• hair felt (from an old damaged trilby)
• goat leather (from an ratty 80ies leather coat)
• drumheads (shredded)
• shoemaker´s glue
• sewing material
