Description

I feel my entry is a great interpretation of the ‘fusion’ theme as I have used tradition blocking & stiffening techniques to make the hat base, whilst also mixing in modern trimmings such as using unique crafted butterflies and crin to create a dramatic effect. The contrasting colours of white and royal blue ‘fuse’ together perfectly to accentuate this piece that is both traditional and modern.

• Hand blocked base – using traditional wooden blocking for creating the sinamay base
• Hand sewing and cutting for all trimmings
