i have always liked plywood as a material and when combined with black felt it creates drama. The shapes are inspired by fans and armour.

• Black peachbloom felt
• Plywood
• Metal studs
• Millinery wire
• Petersham ribbon

Techniques

• Blocking of felt base
• Wiring of base
• Insertion of petersham ribbon
• Cutting of plywood strips
• Moulding plywood strips into shape
• Drilling holes and attaching plywood to base with metal studs
