Eirene
Description
I created Eirene, Greek for Peace to show my interpretation of equilibrium through balance of the headpiece and a balance of well being that creating Eirene had in helping my mind. In a nightmare having tragically lost my son and where my world was turned upside down creating my entry provided an anchor, something to focus on, something I had control over, giving my mind time in each day to be absorbed in creating, a window of peace and equilibrium, to concentrate on its design, challenges and to achieve my goal of a finished work.
Eirene is intricate, each flower and tendril created to show life at its peak..a moment in time. To be worn in happy times. Tendrils mixed in with flowers while each one added to the headband ensuring balance and comfort.
In creating Eirene I have learnt from the experience that there is calmness and light to be had even in the worst of times and so represents to me equilibrium both aesthetically and in my personal circumstances.
