Secondary, think how to balance a headpiece with the rest of an outfit. Finally, think about proportions, texture and silhouettes. To create balanced look, think about how opposites attracts and apply same rule. In this headpiece the contrast fuchsia pink and carnation red look beautiful and bright amongst the quieter colours of feather flowers. • Lace, as the main material, was chosen to match the headpiece with the lace dress for which this crown was created.

Techniques

• Hand dyed lace is stretched over two wire 3D frames creating the double crown base.
• The base is decorated with feather flowers. Each feather was hand dyed and sewed one by one to form a delicate yet striking flowers. Mustard yellow of central petals offset the bright colours of the base and back petals, balancing the whole composition.
