My feeling on creating the “Equilibrium” piece was to create a piece that would be reflective of my signature style while the piece also conveys a feeling of balance and fluidity…

I feel the piece projects the perfect “Equilibrium “… The piece is very easy on the eye with the perfect balance in its tonal stripes and it has a beautiful mix of twists in the jinsin that compliments the models face shape..

Materials

• multicoloured jinsin
• buckram base
• lycra material to cover base

Techniques

• first of all a special block was designed to make the base
• then the base was blocked using a double layer of buckram..this was then left to dry
• the base was then covered with a strechy lycra material..this base was then used as a support/foundation to the jinsin..
• the jinsin was then steamed and moulded into the desired shape ..this took alot of twisting, turning and changing of the jinsin to create a balanced shape..
