Mei-chuan Yang

Mei-chuan Yang – France

Tai Chi / Yin & Yang

Description

The theory of Yin & Yang is the fundamental principle of Chinese Culture, especially for Taoism that prizes balance and harmony of all things in life.

This felt hat consists of a crown and a brim which are not sewn together. To achieve balance, the wearer can play with it and find a balancing point on the crown to dangle the brim down naturally, or fold the brim in a shape to rest gracefully on the top of the crown. There are several ways to place the brim and photos display 2 ways of them.

The colors black and red represent the equilibrium forces of Yin & Yang. The total felt areas of black and red are the same to convey the idea of balance of these two forces.
