Waves

Description

I based my headpiece on waves, I wanted to convey the chaos of water that will always reach equilibrium in the end.

Materials

• Sinamay
• Sewing material
• spray paint
• wooden hat block

Techniques

• using a wooden hat block I blocked the base and wired the edge, then made a sinamay bind for the edge I hand stitched this on.
• using a wooden block for the wave I blocked each wave doing one a day for a few weeks.
• when it came to attaching the waves I had to get the right proportion and flow
• I sprayed the sinamay after each piece was blocked.
