2019 HATalk Competition Entry

Siobhan Daly

Siobhan Daly – Ireland

Description

Bubbles of air created by the loops depicting the forces playing against each other. The different texture of the lycra and velvet combined with the different widths show the variety of thoughts (forces) that can consume our minds. The contrast of the black and white is to display the serenity that can appear out of the darkness. The loops are ‘bubbles’ and these can come and go but a time can come where the bubbles are present and yet the feather can also balance in completely serenity.

In a world of constant movement and madness, this hat is a representation of the calmness we can find and we need in the crazy world we now live.
