Infinity

Description

I got the idea of a sundial pointing into infinity.

A small round, formed base as a sundial but without any time telling signs. For there is no time to tell. A pheasant feather resembles the arrow of the sundial. This feather points through an infinity sign. The infinity sign is made of sinamay and buntal bias and formed with laiton.

Time pointing into infinity is endless and ‘lost’ and therefor Timeless!

For this hat I also used, what I think are, timeless colors.

Materials

  • Vintage buntal, night bleu
  • Sinamay, silver grey and gun grey
  • Laiton
  • Pheasant feather
  • Petersham
  • Apprèt

Techniques

  • Blocking buntal and stiffening with apprèt
  • Making base and layering sinamay and buntal
  • Sinamay and buntal ‘infinity’ sign is formed with laiton
