- HATalk Issue 181: Hat of the Month – Red Calligraphy by Odette & Elliott
Description
“Raindrops” is the exploration of how falling rain can transform into a spectacular 3D experience.
Capturing a moment in time and the relationship between the water and the body.
This piece of millinery evokes a sense of wonder and mystery, leaving you with the thought of what might happen next?
Inspired by the use of non-traditional materials, this piece brings together traditional millinery skills and the wonderous art of free form sculpture. Aided with reference images to accurately translate a sense of movement and life in the water. With careful consideration, the reaction upon contact of the head was a key component in making the raindrops and the splash as life like as possible.
