Description
Spiritually connected to wisdom, the energy of beauty in the "eyes" of the majestic peacock tail sees brilliance in all.
Fosshape is a pliable and heat-resistant thermoplastic material that provides unlimited creation of new forms and objects. As such, the creation of this piece utilising this fabric has allowed my imagination to soar above & beyond.
Hat Making Materials
- Wooden fascinator block to block fosshape base & tail.
- Wire for base.
- Blocking & dress pins.
- Royal blue stretch fabric and tulle to cover fosshape with cotton peacock.patterned fabric covering sides.
- Inside covered as above minus tulle.
- Headband: metal band covered with rown satin ribbon.
- Blue velvet ribbon used as inside trim.
- Blue thread.
- Embellishments: foam peacock, plastic beak & beads for eyes, peacock feathers, mixed feathers & plumage, sequins, glitter, ribbon trim,UHU glue.
Hat Making Techniques
- Paper sketch (freehand).
- Fascinator block to block fosshape.
- Steamer used to stiffen fosshape.
- Scissors to cut fabric.
- Hand stitching to outer & inner fabrics.
- UHU glue to attach feathers &trim to fosshape tail and beak, eyes, glitter and sequins to peacock.
- Knife to carve peacock
- Blunt pin to fix peacock to base.
