Description

My heapiece was inspired by my happy place of nature. I designed from dandelion seeds and how they flow in the wind. I mirrored the dandelion shape in my tulle puff gathers and the organic flow in the balance of the piece. I’ve used a neutral palette to mirror the desire to feel calm and at peace rather than overthinking. I wanted all the sewing elements of the piece to be on show because I love the traditional millinery art of wire work.

Materials:

  • Tulle
  • 1mm cotton covered millinery wire
  • Invisible thread
  • Cotton thread

Techniques:

  • Puff gather fabric manipulation
  • Wire work
