HATalk Competition Entry 2024
Abiosè M O’Haara
Description
Whenever I paint live at events, I carve out a little bit of time to create a Flatternator.
This 10cm Flatternator (of the Primordial Series) was painted at a wedding. The tranquillity of the stream prior to the guests arriving at the Mansion left me feeling blissful. So it was natural that the stream would be my subject for this Flatternator. So when it came time to apply for this competition, this painting immediately hopped into my mind, of all water-themed Flatternators I have created.
While the painting was “cooling” down, I went inside to paint the wedding and what fun it was! Flatternators for me are a sort of journal, diary of my happenings. No matter how much time I have, be it a rushed piece or a more detailed piece like the one I am submitting today, they each hold great value to my soul.
The Flatternator will be in an up and coming TV show in 2025 that will stream to 25 million persons worldwide. I am so grateful for this opportunity to begin to after settling into having my kids; grow Flatternator in very exciting ways.
It is with great pride I continue to develop as an artist, a milliner and a medical doctor. Creativity is such a powerful force of good and greatness.
