Crowning Glory
At the beginning of November, celebrities and horse race lovers alike gathered in Melbourne, Australia for the Melbourne Cup Carnival. As you know, horse racing events bring out some of the fanciest, most extravagant hats. Of course, the Melbourne Cup was no exception.
However, this early November race brought out more than just beautiful hats. Several celebrities paired their outfits with delicate crowns this year. Here is a look at some of our favorites from the event.
Nathalie Kelley
For actress Nathalie Kelley, best known for her role in the 2006 film The Fast and the Furious, a fascinator headband was an easy choice for the occasion. Designed by Jennifer Behr, the headband featured two rows of silver jewel encrusted lilies. The gentle piece was the perfect match for her wavy brown bob.
She kept the color scheme simple for the rest of the outfit as well, sticking with a black and white shirt and skirt combo by Alex Perry. A pop of color was added with her red Sophia Webster heels.

Australian TV host and model Rachael Finch was also in attendance at the Melbourne festivities. She opted for a simple look as well, wearing a fit and flare red orange spaghetti strap dress and heels.
A touch of elegance stemmed from her bejeweled fascinator which started behind one ear, swooped across the back of her head and ended at the other. The fascinator, designed by Lady of Leisure Millinery, featured green, purple and yellow jewels.

Out of all of Olivia Molly Rogers outfits for the carnival, she claims this one was her favorite. The Australian model wore a tight red rose dress with puffed sleeves. Following the flower theme, she wore a crown of rose buds and gold leaves designed by Viktoria Novak.
While a bolder look than some other outfits we’ve seen, the classic rose crown made the loud printed dress appropriate for the occasion.
Flower crowns are elegant, timeless and can truly elevate any outfit. These ladies clearly taught us that! How will you be wearing a crown this upcoming winter?
