Middleton Women Sing the Blues
Earlier this week, the Royal Family gathered in the Chapel Royal at St. James’s Palace for the christening of Prince Louis. Held in his mother’s arms, the 11-week old prince wore the same christening robe that his siblings were baptized in. Attendees were dressed in their Sunday best to celebrate the special occasion.
Whether an ode to the young prince or a simple coincidence, many members of the family chose blue ensembles for the occasion. The Duke of Cambridge, dressed in a blue suit and tie, led his young children, who were also sporting blue, into the Chapel. While Princess Charlotte was adorable in her blue headband, it was her aunt and grandmother who best demonstrated how to wear blue headpieces beautifully.
Pippa Middleton Matthews
Pippa flaunted her growing baby bump in a vintage-style baby blue dress. Complete with cuffed sleeves, corset and buttons, the silhouette was very similar to Abigail Spencer’s royal wedding look. The Alessandra Rich dress was paired with a Jane Taylor hat of a slightly different shade.
Her straw saucer hat featured a raised back, creating the perfect place to display twisted silk trimmings and veiling.
Carole Middleton
Carole Middleton was radiant on Monday. Choosing a pale blue-green Suzannah dress, she led the Middleton family into the Chapel with elegance and ease. In similar fashion to her daughter, Pippa, Carole donned a saucer hat with a raised brim.
In the style of a flower arrangement flowing out of a vase, the piece feature a knotted bow and gentle trimmings. Designed by milliner Juliette Botterill, the hat was perfect for the occasion and allowed Carole’s smile and joy to shine through.
And, although the Duchess of Cambridge wasn’t a beauty in blue, she was a vision in cream. A new look for her, the Duchess chose to wear a raised bandeau headpiece by Jane Taylor.
With top notch hats and elegant ensembles, the Middleton women rarely disappoint when it comes to fashion. Which is your favorite Middleton look? Let us know!
