I’m here to remind you that you can be badass at your creative business! I’m Beverley Edmondson and I’m a milliner and business mentor.
Whether you are just starting out or stuck in a rut, I’m here to inspire you and help you elevate your business to the next level. I want to remind you that you really can have that life you want. You can make money from your passion (and I mean profit, not turnover!).
I know what it’s like, you are a creative! Selling, marketing and business aren’t your strongest assets or what you want to be doing. I get it. You want to be making in the studio but still making money.
Through a lot of trials and tribulations, I learnt to embrace running a business as part of my creativity. This shift in mindset has allowed my business to thrive. I’m no longer just a creative. I’m a business owner who started a business from my Dad’s spare bedroom and market stalls in 2008 and have grown it into an award-winning business now in its fourth premises (each one double the size of the previous), a multi-6 figure turnover and a team of 6, making hats for one-off clients, wholesale and own label accounts. On top of that, I have a successful millinery school and consistent national and international press coverage. And the best thing is, I still get to make hats!
Putting my business skills to good use and seeing the gap in the market for business training for creative businesses, I now also work directly with milliners and creatives mentoring them to help them reach their business dreams. I’m thrilled to write for the HATalk Blog, sharing some hints and tips for growing your millinery business.
I have also published the Milliners’ Planner, a planner for milliners and creatives to design their lives, set and create their goals and reach their business dreams. It can be purchased here: bit.ly/millinersplanner. Plus, I have set up a private Facebook Group dedicated to the business of millinery. You can join HERE.
I’d love to connect and speak to all of you looking to grow your millinery businesses, so please do comment on any of my blogs or feel free to contact me directly!
