FRINGES ARE ABSOLUTLY TIMELESS – you find them in traditional costumes all over the planet, in the flapper dresses of the 20s century and recurrent in leather jacket trends since the “Wild West” till today.

FRINGES ARE NEVER OUT OF STYLE.

The hat’s fringes are quite long, that’s why you have different options to play with it. At the same time it’s comfortalbe and easy to wear. The hat can be styled in totaly different ways. You can wear it with a punk outfit from Vivien Westwood or with a classic pantsuit from Christian Dior. The customer can also style the fringes, like you would do with your natural hair. For example by braiding them or being radical and cutting them off in a different length.

Materials

  • Hair felt cone
  • Soft calf leather

Techniques

  • Block a hair felt cone
  • Cut the felt it after it drys
  • Sand the edges and the surface
  • Stiff the hat
  • Cut the leather fringes by hand, each fringe 5mm thick
  • Fix the fringes inside the hat so it looks like the come from underneath
  • Sew the hatband and finish the lining
