Lilac Vintage Lace Hatinator

I was inspired by a few HATalk projects in particular Lace Bridal Hat / Lace Butterfly Fascinator with stiffened lace. I designed and made this hatinator from a vintage wedding dress sleeve and skirt, I spent many hours cutting around the lace and removing the silk of the wedding dress, I dyed and stiffened the lace and hand beaded it with approx 150 vintage and modern crystals and pearls. l cut petals from the skirt lace also dyed and mixed in metallic fabrics. l added two quills for height and to give this vintage piece a slight off centre feel. l added an unusual straw centre to the main flower on the front of this hatinator which again I felt had an exotic edge. This piece would really compliment a vintage bridal boho look.
