Description
I was inspired to create a head piece that embodies individuals who are happy in their own skin. Zou Zou is a celebration of inclusiveness, diversity, self-expression and the trailblazers.
Acknowledging the following artists and communities as my source of inspiration; Drag Culture, LGBTGIA+ social movement, Andy Warhol and Josephine Baker.

- Jacquard acid dye (501 Sun Yellow)
- Vintage braid
- Gütermann threads
- Millinery wire
- Tulle
- Comb
Hat Making Techniques
- Created the banana skin pattern
- Hand dyed, cut and shaped wool felt
- Free motion machine stitched details
- Hand stitched and wired all elements together
- Mounted it on to a hand shaped tulle headband
- Hand stitched in braid lining
