Description

When I think of water I imagine waves , wave lines , ripples, droplets, sparkling light,
bubble particles, overflowing, and surging – these words all come to mind.
And I imagined the fantasy which the Water Queen is emerging from a pond and she is wearing a crown or headpiece.
I created this design with these all inspirations.

The design around face takes the shape of waves, creating a flowing, dynamic feel.
The back of the headpiece reflects the idea of ripples, water drops and overflowing .
Each bead is carefully sewn on to capture the changing reflections of light , as well as the imagery of bubble particles and water droplets. The bead’s placement evokes the delicate and ever-shifting nature of water, adding a subtle shimmer and texture to the design.

Techniques:

  • Felt base stiffening and blocking
  • Cutting felt into shapes
  • Wiring and stitching all edges
  • Back is cutting the felt and stitching beads in between
  • Sewing felt on to the front and beading
  • Grosgrain ribbon finishing

Materials:

Wool felt
Wire
Grosgrain ribbon
Beads
Felt stiffener
Thread (polyester, nylon)
