A satin flower is the focal point of this Knotted Flower Fascinator, which is mounted onto a teardrop-shaped sinamay base.
If you are new to millinery, this is a great project to try. You will learn how to use handmade sinamay bias binding to cover the edges of the wired fascinator base and to embellish the Knotted Flower Fascinator.

What You Need
- 1 x 18 inch (46cm) square of sinamay
- 4 yards (3.5 metres) of satin bias tape in colour to tone with or match sinamay
- Paper or thin card and pencil for pattern making
- Soft pencil (6B) for marking fabric (or neon pencil for dark coloured fabric)
- Tube of quick-drying clear glue
- Cutting out scissors
- Small, sharp pointed scissors
- Glass-headed pins
- Thread to match both sinamay and bias tape colour
- Sewing machine which can sew zigzag stitches
- Darning needle
- Fine sewing needle
- Iron with steam setting and ironing board
- Hair band
