Project Overview
This fractured ribbon flower project is a great way to use up your leftover Petersham.
Petersham, sometimes referred to as grosgrain, is the most commonly used ribbon for millinery and hat making. It is typically made of either cotton or rayon which has been blended with viscose. It has closely spaced ridges, a scalloped edge and can be curved with steam.
Folded fractured ribbon flowers transcend the seasons – they look just as good on a winter cloche as a summer straw hat. They can even be used as whimsical millinery Christmas tree ornaments!
As you can see in the photo, there are two different ways you can make these fractured ribbon flowers.
