Denise Innes-Spencer

Denise Innes-Spencer is the Founder and Creative Director of The British School of Millinery. Denise studied under Rose Cory and has been working in the field for over 35 years. She has collaborated with fashion and bridal designers such as Ben de Lisi, Jayne Boulton and Suzanne Neville and has also made hats for film and television. Denise’s first book, Tiara Headdresses, was published in 2017.

Denise currently teaches millinery at John Moores University and her classes are featured at London Hat Week. She also spends time working with The Brain Charity in Liverpool, teaching hat making to students with brain injuries. Based in Liverpool, Denise is an engaging speaker and lecturer who is available for talks, presentations, masterclasses and lectures to a wide range of audiences.
