Projects / Covering a Headband

Project Overview

Covering a headband with ribbon is a great way to give a basic band a real makeover. It gives you the freedom to match any trimming and discreetly secure a fascinator or headpiece to the head.

For millinery, another benefit of covering a headband is that you can stitch into the ribbon. This makes it much easier to attach to your creations!

In this tutorial by Michelle from Petershams Millinery Supplies in London, No. 3 Millinery Petersham is used to cover a simple plastic headband. The same technique can also be used with other types of ribbon and hair bands.
