Projects / Silk Lotus Flower

Project Overview

This pretty silk lotus flower can be a fun addition to a fascinator or spring hat. You can use silk scraps to make the petals and hand paint it in any color that you find inspirational. It can be made with a painted edge or with a solid color, in a big or a small size.

Use 100% silk for this flower, making sure you don’t choose a fabric that is too heavy. Also, it is best to use clear, alcohol-based stiffeners and fabric paints on silk so you don’t end up with residue or spots.
